A second Alaqsa mosque in gaza city!

The Great Omari Mosque is the oldest and biggest mosque in Gaza city, it was built thousands years ago and considered from the holy places.

The last night was the 27th of Ramadan which may be the Laylat al-Qadr that are very important night for Muslims occured in this month. So the mosque was full of prayers and emotional senses.

Yesterday the Imam of the mosque called the Great Omari Mosque as “Alaqsa mosque of Gaza” because its so old and holy as Alaqsa in Jerusalem.

Gaza market before Eid al-Fitr

Yesterday i went with my friend to the market in order to buy some stuff. we found it crowded by people, because they got there salaries 2 days ago! and want to buy clothes and things for themsleves and espeically for their children.

Actually i have surpeized because the market is full of most of type of goods.. its supposed to be empty! because of the siege of gaza!. After a while i discovered that all these goods come from tunnels between Palestinian Rafah city southern gaza strip and Egypt.

But the problem that many victims dead during operations of digging the tunnels and transporting the goods or if a tunnel collapsed because its too dangerous, on the other hand many people killed by the Egyption armies which tries to prevent these tunnels.

Another problem of using tunnels instead of ports is the expensive prices of goods because of high transporting costs, the man who digs the tunnel and use it are suspected to death in any time, so he take high wages for this work.

Israel returns to gaza in different way!

After more than month of cease fire between hamas and the other militants groups and israel on the other hand, israel starts another type of fire by making palestinians fight each others and play another time on the internal situation of gaza strip.

I believe that it stands behind these blasts in gaza city, and especially the last one happened on the beach accused Fateh and arrested dozens of its supporters. weather it was responsible or not, i’m sure that israel stands behind these crimes.

The story began after Hamas won elections in January 2006, nobody expected that this nightmare would be realized!. I don’t mean hamas coming itself.. but i mean how the world punish gazans for their choice.

This victory changed the situation upside down in the whole palestine, and affected everybody resides in palestine. The main thing is economy, yes salaries stopped at the moment that hamas won elections. it were were coming mainly from US and EU which consider hamas group as a terrorist organization.

The palestinian international campaign to end the siege on gaza talks in more details about the impact of the siege.

i’ll try later to describe my daily storied and some news from gaza city.
